So, a good friend of mine just bought a Bronco Raptor and as some of you may know, they cost about $100k. When I questioned why he'd want one, he said that it costs the same as a 392 and to this, I said that a 392 has a 392. The Bronco Raptor for all it might have, still has a V6 with a turbo. Still, he insists that it's pretty fast and totally bad ass. He said, he could see why Jeep is losing sales.

With all that said, what would you do with $100k if you had it to burn? And, I get that we're all Jeep guys on here but let's just say for a moment that the Bronco Raptor is all that - way cool in terms of suspension and "still pretty fast". Would it be enough for you to jump ship? Is there no replacement for displacement? Or, would you take the money and just do something else?

I'd love to know what you think

5ish years ago, I'd drop the 100k on a 392. No way a Bronco.

But now, with the cost of living, future economic uncertainty (due to decades of money printing), and my kids getting older, I could find so many other ways to prioritize 100k. I just look at the cost of food or vacation/travel, I just don't want 100k tied up in a vehicle (even without a monthly payment).

Honestly been contemplating this very thing. I’ll be ready to retire in a few short years so was thinking I might plop down the big cheese on a 392 but then I’ve gotten to thinking like WJCO said with inflation and everything else going on I’d probably hold off. Been looking at putting in a pool at our house and in our area just a pool with auto cover is north of 150k add in landscaping and ETC were looking at around 300 k probably be swimming in the river this year and next.

I put an in ground pool in back in 2004 with a waterfall, decking, saltwater. Total cost was 32k lol. I can't believe what they cost now.

Friend of mine has the Bronco Raptor and really likes its he’s always been a bronco guy going way back, but also has a lifted Jk, he loves the power and how it rides out of the box, in my opinion, they def look better than the standard broncos, aside from their gay rear fenders, and I do think you get more suspension than a factory 392, but certainly not the power. Also In my opinion, Both are way over priced for what you’re actually getting, aside from it all being under warranty. While I love my 392, I can’t see world where I’d pay 100k for one, but it’s def the best jeep I’ve ever owned and it’s not even close.

I didn't realize the Bronco Raptor came with a turbo V6. I assumed it had the 5.7l the pickup had. That being said the fenders completely kill it for me. I do like the sasquatch edition. However if I had $100k to burn I'd buy a 4x4 sprinter van and have it converted into a mobile coffee shop. Working out of a 10x10 canopy setting up and tearing down is getting old. If anyone knows of a good food truck fabricator let me know. I'm seriously in the market.
