On a 2007-11 running a wimpy 3.8L, no. On a 2012-up running a 3.6L Pentastar, you can definitely do it so long as you make sure to recalibrate your speedometer. We are and have found it to be acceptable.
I have a 2008 manual transmission and started with stock gears and 37" Toyos. While it is do-able, the 6th gear is almost never used. Think 4 speed with an overdrive 5th gear.
I went to 513 gears and there was immediate improvement and it was worth the money when it comes to better drive-abilty. I can't attest to automatic transmissions, but was told by those that di have them that re-gearing was a must on the Jeeps prior to the Pentastar engine.
