3.6 Spark plug change

RJV

Caught the Bug
Planning to do spark plugs on my 3.6 soon (just hit 102k miles). I know I'll need spark plugs (going with NGK Laser Iridiums), do I need the set of upper manifold gaskets? I have read mixed opinions on if they are reusable. Not opposed to changing them, but if I need to, is OEM required or would Mahle or fel pro work? Don't think I'm going to touch the oil filter housing, no leaks yet on mine, I'm sure if I replace it, it will leak. Any thing else it makes sense to consider doing while I'm in there?

Thanks!

No you don’t need to change. I would order a spare coil pack or two just to have in case one breaks. Just return if you don’t use it.

This^^
I had a couple of the coil pack portion that slides over the spark plug tear apart, then I decided to just replace them all.
If the manifold seals are green and look good, they are supposed to be reusable.
They changed the seal material on the JL from the previous 3.6 blue manifold seals. If you end up having to replace them, get them from the dealer, auto parts stores (felpro brand etc) sell only the blue seals.
