08 Jeep JKUR Build w/ question at the end

A few years ago I purchased a 08 jk that came with 35" Nittos, and a 2" puck in the back to clear the 35s. It had a big rake to it in the front that I didn't like. So I ordered up some JKS front Acos system to take out the rake. After adding the OCF front bumper and mile marker winch, it had a rake in the front again. I purchased Old man Emu 2" front springs. We wheeled the Jk like that for a good 3 years before the big build happend. In December of last year I was able to do some major upgrades. It was time to step up a notch. I ordered some Nitto 37x13.50 mud grapplers,4" Long Arm Kit from RC, Some 5.38 g2 gears, and a few more goodies.
While I was running the 35s, I was limited as to what I could do, but 37s will let me do anything I want to.

I will be ordering th EVO double Throwdown at the end of this week along with sliders and armour.
Does anyone have the the DTD? If so how does it ride and flex?
If anyone has the sliders what angle does it come stock as? I see some that are almost flat and some that are angles to keep the Rock away from the rocker, are the flat ones custom or stock?

There are tons of people in here with Evo stuff. Just do a search and I'm sure you will find what your looking for. The ride and flex of the DTD is amazing. You will love it.

By a chance were you in telluride back in early August? I think I saw your jeep in town close to the bakery.
Nice Rig!

Nice! I love the bear. The views are amazing! Must have just missed ya. I usually sit outside at the bakery and take in the view. So where you getting the DTD done at or you plan on doing it yourself?

When k get the kit I'm gonna see how hard it is, it doesn't look hard at all but it always looks different in person, I have the tools to do it but just don't know if I want to trust my welding, if I decide to have someone else do it il have Just Jeeps in Austin TX do it since my girlfriends dad owns it

Oh nice. That's prob a good place to have it done at. So where are you from?
I don't trust my welding. Specially now that I have a kid. Btw I took my son down the bear and he was 3 months old. The wife was freaking out!

I am from Georgetown, Texas, I was in the back of my parents yj when we went down black bear for the first time, I was also 3 months old. In 2008 we got to go up black bear(theirs one day a year you can go up :)) we did Poughkeepsie gulch and corkscrew and went back down black bear. We did the same in 2013 and got to do it this year with the new accessories. This year I lead my brother, and my dad down black bear while the wife's and my brothers kids drove around and watched us come down black bear from telluride. I grew up doin black bear and wheeling in the San juans. I'm 17 and have wheeled just about all the trails in Texas and BB is by far my favorite trail.

Awesome! I have done my share of wheeling in CO. My grand-father-in-law has been wheeling the San Juans since the late 50's early 60's. He passed up on buying a house in Telluride in 1972 for like $10,000 because he said it was just to much! That house is still there and its not $10,000 anymore. Poughkeepsie is a fun trail too. I love just watching people try to get up the wall. Can be pretty entertaining.
When you went up the Bear was Terry from Alpine offroad in Montrose leading in his Grand Cherokee? I have always want to be there for that but have never made it.
So im a Texan as well. Born and raised in north Texas, Wichita Falls area. I currently work in Eagleford shale of south Texas. Not to far from ya.

It is fun watching the 2 door jks and the tjs try Poughkeepsie, our 4 door has crawled it with no trouble at all. It was terry leading our group. We also did the Crimson 4x4 group ride in 09. We are actually looking at buying a house in Ouray.it's pretty cool that your grand-father-in-law was thinkin about that house. I've always loved telluride. After doin black bear or imagine you can hear all the trail story's being told in the restaurants lol, have you run the trails at Hidden Falls Adventure park or Katempcy Rocks in marble falls?

I love to watch the FJ try it and then either turn around or winch up if they even have one. Then take the far left side of the wall and just walk right up it.
My wife and I are looking for a place in Ridgway with a bit of land.
Terry is a good guy. I usually stop by and chat with him when im in Montrose.
I have never been to them. Pretty far away from me when I was in north texas.
