Moab trip in just over 5 min

Our Vegas based Jeep Club spent last week in Moab and these are the highlights.

    On board air tank only

You will get about a 20psi four tire fill for every 2.5 lbs of CO2 with 35x12.5x17. It can be tricky to know when you are running low though. The only way to tell is to weigh your tank. A ten lbs tank will weigh 10 lbs more when full. The gauge won't change till it's too late. I have onboard...

Jk 2 door with out rear flares

Had mine off for a little while when I was making aluminum fenders. The shop was doing my gears at the time so I have a few pics.

Couple of us braved the 105° temps in Logandale yesterday and here's the evidence. http://youtu.be/u5cCt7Czszo

    Filming from my quadcopter

I bought the DJI Phantom quadcopter to fly my GoPro H3BE a month ago to get different angles in my videos. Thankfully a couple of the guys are throttle happy and one was a complete manic so I got some killer footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMhORkheojg&feature=youtube_gdata_player...

What was done to your rig this week?

That was an upgrade from about 14 months ago. 4.88's in a d30 with LSD and stock shafts. Wasn't really abusing it, well, not anymore than usual. Think I broke the first tooth on this obstacle then stripped the rest later in the run on easier stuff.

WIN a GoPro HERO 3+ Black Edition - CLICK HERE!!

I would love to have it for EJS next year. I would take it on Hell's Revenge.

    GoPro Hero3+

Anyone else excited about the new cameras? The Black edition has a "Superview" that gives you a wider angle on a short distance. I've been playing with a boom off my rig and the closer I can get would definitely be easier in tight canyons. The other new feature is improved night vision in an...

    Suds of the Day

My homebrew California Common steam ale and some cherry Midnight Moon shine. One puts hair on your chest, the other burns it back off. Hold my calls.

    GoPro Studio 2.0 Contest

Just submitted my video in the GoPro Studio 2.0 contest. They are giving away a MacPro and a bunch of their gear to the winner. Anyone else got a video in? Here's mine.

What gear ratio with a 5 1/2" LA and 35's?

I'm running a Synergy with all 8 adjustable control arms, raised trackbar and draglink flip. Fox shocks for a 2-4" lift. I've run it through some nasty trails including John Bull and it gives me plenty of flex.

    Random Photos

Got home from work and my Chiweenie was eating what was left of a turtle. Shell pieces and...umm....other parts on the carpet. The hind legs and whatever passes for a turtle colon were the only things left in the half shell.

    Prototype GoPro boom

Got a phot of the rig in action. Also remeasured and I'm a little over 7' of boom with almost 3' of counter in that setup.

    Prototype GoPro boom

Trying to get some more exciting angles from my GoPro I modified a rotating boom idea I saw online. They mounted a short length of PVC on a swivel caster mount to a skateboard helmet with counterweight against the camera. I went bigger and used a 10' piece of conduit. I need to find a better...

    Not happy with JK.

My JK is tuned to the wrong radio station and the dealer says its not covered under warranty because its an aftermarket stereo. I'm a gonna trade it for this.

Yeah, I wish I had a rig like that when I was his age (12 I think). Seriously, he is a new freshman at UNR. Great kid and a great driver.

    DIY Rock sliders

It's not that difficult if you can do basic fab and weld. Helps to have a pipe bender and a pipe end notcher but I've seen it done with a grinder and creative use of a bottle jack. I set mine at 55 degrees to the ground to keep them tight. Mine are basically an ACE copy. I've beat them hard and...

    2013 JK-Experience

I have a buddy with a YJ heavily modified on 40's that can't seem to find a rock in the SW that will get him on 3 wheels. He climbed this at the start of Gold Mt to check clearance of his new engine and still had a couple inches on the front passenger. We need a club fork lift.
