FINAL UPDATE: replaced the fuel injector on cylinder 3 and also installed a new clip on the ignition coil so it locks down properly. Two test drives and ZERO MISFIRES! Fingers crossed this it the fix but it’s a jeep. You never know if the check engine is gonna come back on in a few weeks. Lol.

Not totally. I put a new plug in and also realized my battery terminal was little loose on the negative side. I tightened that down. Still getting misfire data after the jeep is warmed up and only when not driving at speed. I have a new fuel injector as well as a new injector coil clip on order...

Looks doffermt than the OEM ones but I’ll have to take a closer look. I don’t think the clip is the issue but gonna change to rule out regardless. Of course it’s on cylinder 3 which is the hardest to work on due to the metal plate and no room. SMH.

Thanks. I can’t swing that repair cost. I already threw a lot of money into this thing. Just hasn’t felt like there is ending to it. Also have a rear main seal leak and that’s also costly.

Clip isn’t in stock anywhere. Going to throw a new spark plug in today and see if that helps. If so great. If not then I’ll change the clip and also flip coil packs to rule out a faulty one. After that I’m waiting the white flag and moving on.

Update: hooked up my scanner and ran the live data for the misfires. Took a drive. No misfires when driving. Only when stopping and idling or when slowing down. Very strange. Zero misfires on the highway and I drive about 30 miles. Anyone have any ideas based on this? I also checked some live...

My plan is to change the clip. If that’s not it I, I will change the spark plug and also swap the coil pack for cylinder 1 and see if I get a code on that cylinder. If so then I’ll replace the coil pack. What a pain in the ass. 🙄
