Yeah I get it. I don’t really bother with torque values unless it’s truly called for. With that said, I’m just not looking to have to dig I ti the engine for something so just want to cover my bases in that respect. Getting to the cooler housing is a bitch. Let alone go the knock sensors...

did you use oem for the sensors? Sensors are finicky. And sounds stupid but check the battery terminal connections. Good luck. I feel your pain. Had similar issues.

Cooler housing, new sensors, new wiring harness and two new knock sensors replaced. The sensors on the oil cooler I just snugged up. The knock sensors I tightened to the torque spec. The coolant hose was in good shape so I left it alone. Didn’t want to deal with draining the coolant. Fingers...

I hear you. And agree. Unless suspension related I’m usually not concerned beyond snugging up. Just with the labor involved to get to these sensors (and with my bad luck) I’m trying to avoid having to go back in after doing all this work. Did a coolant change not too long ago and used the Mopar 50/50 mix. Have some left over and going to do an oil cooler housing swap today or tomorrow and the coolant hose. Thinking I have enough coolant to top off. But if not, is it ok to use another coolant brand that I can get at local auto...

When you say the short wire harness…are you taking about the entire harness setup? Or just a piece of it. I’m trying to figure out if the whole harness is easy to access….the main connector of the harness that is. I’d rather swap the whole thing out but before I order it I’m curious if it’s...

Well, time to replace the oil cooler housing again. First one went out at 65k and the second went out right on schedule at 130k lol Since I’m gonna be in there, and since I’m at 130k, I’m thinking of changing the knock sensors as a precautionary repair. My normal approach is to leave well...

Yeah. Funny thing is I replaced this about 30k miles ago as part of a number of things I serviced at 100k miles. It was precautionary. But I used a sensor from auto zone. From what I’ve heard others say, sensors are really finicky so it’s best to go with Mopar. Anything I do going forward is Mopar.

Happened again. This time a code was thrown for the crankshaft position sensor. So have Mopar one on the way. With all the issues I’ve had lately back to back, I’m starting to look for a hidden camera and Alan Funt. Yeah aging myself but some of you will get it. Lol

Tha Thanks. These battery terminals are the worst. I’ve never been able to get a tight connection without using a piece of a shim. Battery is 2 plus years old so I’ll have to keep an eye on it. The alternator is original so 10 years and 130k miles on that.
