If I had a Rubicon with a stock 44 up front, I'd run 37's all day. Might just be me but everything can and will break, so pick the right lines and you'll be fine. I have a JK sport with a Dana 30 up front on 35s - wheeled decently hard with 99k miles on the clock.

Another vote for the 392. While I absolutely love LJs both totally stock and completely built up, if you have the money the 392 is obviously the way to go as aside from the fact it's a newer, modern vehicle, it's pretty much ready to go for what you want to do with it and a blast to drive on and...
