From what I’ve read increasing MPG to meet EPA requirements is the primary driver for manufacturers to use lower viscosity oils.

Based on the GM decision to change viscosity for the 6.2, I’m inclined to change with more confidence it wouldn’t be harmful.

I was curious about that myself, and have considered it, but as I have learned from listening to Lake, changing to higher viscosity can have side effects such as increase in engine temp, and reduced efficiency. I didn't buy a Jeep for efficiency though.
