    2024 JL Sport S 42k miles.

Did the service documentation (user manual) you got with your Jeep say to change the differential oil at 40k miles? This sounds like a recommendation if your vehicle is used for towing or some other severe duty service. Dealerships suck if you faithfully bring your Jeep in routinely for service...

    Steeper descents dangerous behavior

It was my impression that hill descent mode would also enable pulsating braking (noisy), similar to the anti-lock braking system. I have seen demonstrations of this on YouTube. But I have never tested the feature. It is not realistic to expect a small engine to provide a lot of stopping force...

    Fire in California

In private business, "donations" to United Way were/is a thing. Almost all employers seem to participate in this. I still remember at my first (small) employer, a co-worker was provided with my private pay data and informed me of my "fair share" contribution. I turned in my form (since it was...

Random Internet Shit you've come across

The salaries seem low for the area. The problem is not how to build a plant. The problem is how to satisfy all of the thousands of regulations, and safeguards/checks, and the paranoid lunatics, which have built up since the "The China Syndrome" movie was released. And also, how to safely get...

What was done to your rig this week?

😂 I was making a right hand turn on the curving driveway, where the curb also turns to the right. The tires went up on the curb without us feeling anything, and then they dropped over where there was maybe a 18 inch drop. It would have required rock lights (and someone looking) to see what is...

What was done to your rig this week?

The ground on the other side of the curb dropped off quite a lot so when the tire went over it, the lower shock mount is what made contact. Luckily the curb was not damaged. It gets really dark in the country. I piled up rocks on the other side of the curb so if I turn too sharp again, this...

    Steeper descents dangerous behavior

My dash display looks similar to yours. I expect that the "free spooling" happens when the transmission changes to higher gears. Since I have enabled showing the current gear (something you should do), if I was paying attention I would likely notice that the transmission has changed gears...

    Steeper descents dangerous behavior

Not related to hill descent control (because it's not enabled), but when I go down a long hill and am enjoying some engine braking to control descent rate, after a short while it is as if the transmission suddenly goes "free spooling" and the Jeep suddenly accelerates down hill due to gravity...

    Front Passenger Wheel well?

Since it is apparently a safety feature there may be liability if you remove it (similar to seat belts). Or it may fail an inspection.

What was done to your rig this week?

Maybe the skids will work. Once I caused "trail damage" to a rental Jeep in my own driveway (drove over a tall curb in the dark). The part damaged is what this skid is protecting.

    Kill it With Fire

The unsprung weight ratio is not so great, but it is not likely to flip when taking corners due to it's wide stance, and 3 degrees maximum steering angle.
