I've done this trail, years ago, in the stock XJ pictured below. Yes that's what all 4 tires looked like. It took a fair amount of time but was completed with no damage, at least nothing visible. Edit: I unfortunately can't make it, doing the two day ride MS that weekend.

I would buy one

The one thing I know about winches. When you need it it MUST work! I say it's worth ever penny however my two year old son is usually with me.

Seems most people go 1.5 times gross vehicle weight. I went 8000lbs on my JKU. I have not had to use it yet however between that and a snatch block that should be more than enough. I went made in USA Warn M8000 with synthetic rope. Great price on Amazon.
