@Ddays, not ridiculing you or your ideas, just trying to inject some humor. I’m not saying they only used chisels. That would be as absurd as claiming you can install a lift kit with just a hammer.

You gotta have tools unless you have some way to sweet talk the stones into place. “Please, oh Great Shapeless Blob of Granite. Join with your brethren and become part of this great edifice to amaze humans tens of millennia from now.” Whether they had help or not, I don’t think they stood...

    3.6 knocking sound?

I would go so far as to say the wedges and the “grenade pin” are necessary

You can’t have it both ways. Did they have better tools or did they use copper?

Are we talking about advanced civilizations or not? The question you should ask is “What kind of chisels were used to split granite?” Of course, chisels are not the only tools used to shape stones. Here’s a video using drill holes

    3.6 knocking sound?

PS- Removing the intakes and valve covers isn’t very difficult. Neither is removing the cams, rockers & lifters. The part that kicked me in the can was the timing chain and cam phasers.

I agree. After listening to these two books, my theory is the Indian tribes of the Americas are the post apocalyptic survivors of advanced civilizations

Not all of it. You can bet chisels were used for some of it.

    3.6 knocking sound?

When I replaced the rockers & lifters, I was working in a ramshackle shed freezing my tucas off. Videoing the work was the furthest thing from my mind. I did, however, put together a video of performing a leak down check. Before tackling the rockers & lifters, perform a leak down check to...

Chisels are always involved in stonework. Along with hammers, drills, wedges, water, sand, fire and other tools and consumables.

Some anthropologists and archaeologists traveled to South America to study, among other things, how the ancient people fit their stonework so closely. After discussing various theories at length, an old Indios told them he knew how it was done. He used sand and water between the stones to grind...

YEA or NAY : Computer Controlled Electronic Jeep Components

The choice that is closest to my opinion is “On The Fence”. I don’t want to go back to carburetors, points & condensers, 3 speed transmissions, leaf springs, drum brakes, manual windows & door locks or two speed wipers. While this level of technology is free of electronic controls, it’s...

    Downsizing to a 2 door

First, this is America. It doesn’t matter if you need two four doors or not. If it comes down to need, sell both Jeeps and buy something sensible and boring because that’s all you need to get from point A to point B. What matters is what you want. Do you want a two door Wrangler? Or a four door...

VIDEO : Hide Pinch Seams with Ease on a Jeep and for Cheap

Being that the pinch weld hiders are made of vinyl, you could get creative and have made them in any color or pattern. You could even get them with a pattern of little yellow ducks wearing sunglasses, lip balm and a Wayalife tee shirt!
