    Rock Slider help

I'm not a fan of the ones you have on there now either. A new guy went wheeling with us once on a trail that was relatively easy, but his experience level slid him up against a rock while climbing a steep, but short shelf and bent it. Didn't quite hit the body, so technically it did its job...

    Rear axle upgrade question

Yes, you're rear locker connected to another source will not stop your front locker from engaging. However, it gets frustrating after while since you will still have to hit the button twice to engage the rear and the front. And the rear will just blink as if it's not engaging. You can also...

    Handheld Radio recommendations?

I've got a couple of the Rugged Radio handhelds, but I bought a Baofeng UV-5R+ and I find myself using it al the time now. It's a much better experience not having to load the computer software and pre-program the channels/freq's into the radio. My new go-to handheld: -Baofeng UV-5R+ (RED)...

    Build plans input

My Jeep addiction started with an 06 Rubicon. Wheel that sucker as it sits and enjoy it while you get it mechanically fit. 2-3 inches of lift isn't going to get you much of anything in terms of capability. 4 or 5 years from now your plans will change, they always do. I don't know where...

    AIRBNB Questions (MOAB)

Thanks for chiming in everyone. I'm going to hang onto the reservation. In comparison, at $400/night I'd be foolish not to take advantage of it. If something does come along that I would rather go do, I can cancel last minute for a full refund, likely resulting in them missing out on the...

    AIRBNB Questions (MOAB)

Thats exactly how I feel about the whole thing. I've got a month off of work around that time, and I was just going to book the week afterward. However, this listing didn't hike their price during the event so I jumped in.

    AIRBNB Questions (MOAB)

Exactly, but I called customer service prior to responding and they said the hosts can cancel, any penalties are between them and AIRBNB. However, they wouldn't tell me what those penalties are. I mean, if the penalty is that they can't rebook anyone else for more than mine, that's a huge...

    AIRBNB Questions (MOAB)

Anyone on here familiar with short term rentals that can comment on my situation? I've searched Google, looked through the AIRBNB website, and called AIRBNB customer service and was left without an answer, (or at least they wouldn't tell me.) I wasn't going to go to EJS this year because I...

    Rattle Can Bedliner Experiences...

Line-X is great, but its not the only game in town. I had my new truck done in 2020 by a small shop that does all the dealerships in my area and its every bit as good as Line-X, and way better than the Raptor Liner job I did in my Jeep tub 10 years ago. Took them less than 30 minutes and cost...

SPOTTED: Any 4X4 other than a Jeep JK/JL Wrangler

Found this gem just hanging out last night. Prospector XL Tray Bed. Only 10 were made and this one is still in new condition.

    Manivan is under construction

Thanks! Its been great and certainly good insurance for the trails. I'm glad I waited through the years until a full cage was available. V-bar would be more useful than the A. I would really like to have a rearview mirror up there, and will eventually chop them off so I can put one of those...

    Manivan is under construction

I bought a miller 211 and a friend and I did my cage over a couple days. The 110v outlets worked okay for tacking, but anything more and it was struggling for penetration. We went to HomeDepot and made a 220v extension cord to go into the laundry room off my garage and 220v was much better. (I...

Storage prep, leaving Jeep for 3 months

My Wrangler and Cummins Ram sit for 10-15 months at a time. Jackstands, disconnect battery and use a battery tender and you're good to go, takes all the guesswork out of it. Not many insurance companies offer it, but mine has a policy for vehicles in storage, or out of service for maintenance...

    Synthetic Winch Line

Yeah, I thought about that, but then I fear I'd have a really good looking hook with a galled-up loop that would be a pain in the ass getting the rope through if I had to repair the line. The hook is cool and all, but it's not worth making it fit.

    Synthetic Winch Line

I'll always run synthetic. It's just plain safer. I have the neoprene cover on all the time to keep it clean, and out of the sun. Last time I tried some knock-off brand rope just out of curiosity. It was fine and a great value at 1/3 the price of name-brand rope, but I'm not exactly pulling...

    Don't buy MOPAR Beadlocks

Don't take it all personally. It's a forum and everyone here has their own views based on their experiences. And of course - hindsight is 20/20. When you're pissed off and seeing red for being in a crappy situation, it's just easy think you were set up. We've all been there, but lucky for you -...

    Don't buy MOPAR Beadlocks

Sorry about your "experience," but this falls on you. It's your responsibility to know what is on your jeep and inspect it often. And really childish to go to a couple forums and cut/paste a rant about how its everyone else's fault and someone owes you free wheels cause you just now noticed...

    Smokers, grills, and the B-B-Qs

I miss my pellet gril back homel, but the soux vide has been keeping me well-fed here in the Middle-East. I cook meats to a solid rare, then finish it off on the grill to medium rare. I toss a couple flavored wood chips on the coals for some smokey flavor.
