2.5 res shocks / coilover advise

I think it’s the same as a jeep standard king 2.5, just valved different, so maybe king website has that info for their off the shelf shock, but not entirely sure, you’d think EVO would know though lol

In The Shop - Disciple Off Road

That’s good to know, I obviously weight the security higher but your right, anything can break if your doing to much in a bad spot, my dad can do my gears so it’s just parts, but is also know how much smaller the gears get so I’ll just keep flip flopping in my brain lol.

In The Shop - Disciple Off Road

Yea mine is a 2021, just had really low miles, so not the XR or whatever they called it back then

In The Shop - Disciple Off Road

Yea I think I will just stick with the 3.73. As much as I’d love more gear it’s certainly not needed and doesn’t seem worth the risk based on that.

Just talked to my dad, see said house in stagecoach shook pretty good, my mom was at work at a clinic in Fallon and it was worse, they actually had Sheetrock cracks on the walls

    12' Gecko Build

I want to say I had em rebuilt around 15k miles? Maybe it was 20k. Id argue coilovers will bring better performance when set up right, but definitely a higher cost, and I think in general people haven’t been fully satisfied the way the JK bolt on coilover kits perform vs king 2.5 shock, I’d say...

    12' Gecko Build

Yea that’s true, but you’re going to get better performance with kings, all depends on what you’re using your jeep for l guess and how many miles your putting on will determine when to rebuild. Could always keep a pair of ranchos or similar on the shelf for when you send the kings off, I...

    12' Gecko Build

Yea absolutely, king 2.5s definitely worth it if you want to go fast off road, I loved the set I had on a JK, but if you just crawling, a solid 2.0 will do the job. Curious what others have to say

    12' Gecko Build

I gotcha, yea no need to wait that long lol. Based on people’s general opinion for bolt on coilovers for the JK, it’s seems like it’s not that much better than a good coil/2.5 shock combo, and maybe could save some cash for other parts of the suspension.

    12' Gecko Build

How far out are you from doing your stretch project? Might be worth saving that 7k towards that, rather than another stepping stone.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER Mounts for JL & JT

Yea for sure, bit of an older pic, but I have half of the plastic gone due to my roof rack mount, but it actually stays put pretty good with the plastic. But I do feel like the strap is tighter on the metal side of the mount. Can’t recall what the back of the bar on the JT looks like tho.

    The Return of BIGGER Black

Nothing leaking, just like Jeremy said, I think it was just the grease that was burning and whatever else is inside of it
