    Strange QUOTE garble when replying

The UI does not look like in your graphic (see my screen--shot). With some experimentation, I see that the icon to the far right which looks like a piece of paper with folded corner and a magnifier over it does the toggle. But why is it in that mode?

Someone just tried to assassinate Trump

Social Security numbers are actually tax identifier numbers. I know for a fact that the federal government allows illegal aliens to apply for a TIN since I have seen it for myself. This then allows opening a bank account. The feds are eager to collect taxes from illegal aliens as well.

Someone just tried to assassinate Trump

The poor death accounting does not mean that all the elderly undead are receiving and cashing a check. The 'dead' flag is not the complete story. I smell a musky odor pertaining to this.

VIDEO : All Terrain Tires that Grapple the Snow

We tend to like very large tires on our jeeps. Are the studded tires available in similar sizes so there is little change to anything else?

YJ 2.5L-1992: 5-Speed, gearshift problems in winter

It seems like the shifter is attached to a removable housing in front of the actual transmission and there is mechanical linkage inside. It may be that some of the linkage inside is worn, or gummed up, or mis-adjusted so there is insufficient travel while cold. It may also be that the...

YJ 2.5L-1992: 5-Speed, gearshift problems in winter

What is the shifter linkage like? Does it use a cable? If it uses a cable, maybe it should be replaced or be lubed with a lubricant which does not harden up in the cold.

VIDEO : All Terrain Tires that Grapple the Snow

It seems that if you live in a place which is cold during the winter, with lots of snow and ice, having two sets of tires is a wise idea. But changing out tires at home is a real pain, and especially if the sets are not similarly sized so the spare fits the tire carrier. An extra set of...

    The Weather Thread

I am glad you appreciate it. Thanks for the feedback. Here is Dallas we seem to have no shortage of ice storms. But this has been a really mild winter so far. Significant cold on Tuesday night though.

VIDEO : All Terrain Tires that Grapple the Snow

I am interested to hear how they do on the trails. What are we losing (compared with something like the Ridge Grapplers "M+S") to get better all-weather capabilities?

What I used to wheel and where I am at now…

Welcome from Texas (and Arizona)! The FJ looks really nice but the back-seat access on it is strange. I can see why you were concerned with a small child. You should be happy with a Gladiator, which has a normal back seat, and can also haul stuff.

As long as there is not 2" of ice, you will be fine. With heavy ice, tree branches (and whole trees) fall down, and take out the power. And you can't really drive on ice.

What was done to your rig this week?

Texas has had snow and ice storms and the roads were heavily salted (and other involved states too). I drove my Jeep through this so I should check it for rust too.

Building a Rubicon to ride like a Mojave

In order to obtain the best highway ride as possible, avoid Apache county (poorest county in Arizona with the most deaths/mile in the nation), which has a lot of pot holes. If traveling through New Mexico, avoid Lincoln county (poorest county in New Mexico), where washboarded asphalt is a thing...

    Suds of the Day

Unfortunately, some restaurants have a policy that all beverages need to be opened and poured prior to carrying it to the table. And many waiters/waitresses are clueless when it comes to Guinness. The result is that you can't be sure what beer you may receive, and it may be totally ruined by the...

    Jeep Wave!

On my last drive through New Mexico, I got perhaps one wave back (there were also hardly any jeeps since almost everyone has a pickup truck) and it was from someone from Texas. I got plenty of waves back in Texas populated areas, and in Arizona.
