How are your coilovers set up?

This post in Eddie and Cindy's Tahoe thread got me thinking about my setup: http://wayalife.com/showthread.php?8844-Livin-the-Life-Tahoe-2013&p=143781&viewfull=1#post143781 Those coils are really cranked down for more lift compared to mine. I assume this was because they were loaded up for a...

Warn Powerplant vs Zeon + OBA

Both are great options; it's just preference. Powerplant gets it done with one simple install as Serg said. I went with the 10-s because it fits well very with my Expedition One bumper. Sits down in there almost completely out of the way. For now I just got a Viar 450p because I couldn't...

My own JK 'Big Brake' research:

Here are a few more shots (total posers). Hopefully this will give you an idea of the stance, at least with Nitto TG's, Hutchinsons and 1-1/2" Spydertrax.. The tire sidewall sticks out 4" beyond the front fenders and 3" beyond the back.

My own JK 'Big Brake' research:

You probably want direct head on shots. I don't have any of those but here are a few I do have. I will take a few more when I get home later this evening. Those are Bushwacker fender flares and an Expedition One front bumper. What? You missed a post in this thread?? Ha...

SPOTTED: Any 4X4 other than a Jeep JK/JL Wrangler

Wow. How did I miss this thread? Good idea Greg. While photographing barns a few years ago I saw this: And the other day I had the Jeep in for service. The owner of the dealership has an old Jeepster. It was being worked on right next to mine...

    Who's off roading this weekend?

I am in the Adirondacks hoping to explore some trails. But it will probably be very mellow stuff; most of the trails around here are closed to vehicles. Dave

    Oso Build Thread

Cobra 75 installed earlier this week. I decided to do a "temporary" install to see if I like it and how it works. Antenna mounted to an existing 1/2" threaded hole in the Teraflex tire carrier. Had the welder make me a simple aluminum L-bracket. SWR meter reads amazingly low for this...

    Front locker on JK questions?

If you pushed the clutch over to the right and your light was still reading locked, then the sensor in the back was stuck. Here is a pick of where the sensor is. It is that screw head looking thing behind the clutch, just in front of the pinion. [note in this pic my clutch is installed wrong...

Ha! Great point; I'm a slacker. It was a quick trip but we finished a little early Wednesday, so I had some time between 4-6 so I ran up there. Also got to do a little of this, which was just fantastic:

    Spacer or not to Spacer

Like FoxC said, 4.5 should be plenty of backspacing for what you want to do. Because of coil overs I need 3.5" so I added 1.5" spacers to 4.625" backspacing, which gets me to 3.125". Very close to where you would be with spacers. I agree it's not a good idea to get spacers less than 1.5"...

    Oso Build Thread

I was in Dana Point earlier this week so I ran up to Fullerton Wednesday afternoon to ORE. Got to meet Jake and Andrew. Andrew took me on a great tour even though it was right at 5pm. Really cool place and awesome people! [Yeah, I know; we already knew that...!] Yesterday I removed the e-disco...

    Oso Build Thread

Here is basically what I did. As Chris points out, the big problem is how to keep the strength in front of the cross over pipe. I kept the small section of that rib / gusset on the driver side. But aside from adding ribs or other material, there just isn't much you can do. As mentioned...

    Oso Build Thread

Yesterday we finished the EVO Protek skids. The oil pan and tranny skids fit fine, but the third piece that protects the exhaust crossover pipe does not fit with long arms. So we cut it to fit. Definitely better than the nothing but not as good as the real thing.
