My buddy’s friend was trying to clearance this old Corvair van crank case for a larger crank shaft and went a little too far. I welded it up for him. Not much to look at, but I’m pretty happy with it. Old cast aluminum is pretty filthy to weld…just glad I could lay in some clean filler and save...

It’s true. Bought it when I first moved from stock tires to 35s, years ago because it was on the shelf and I was going wheeling. Hasn’t made the upgrade budget since. Been on the list of stuff that I think would be cool to fab myself…

Glad you got it figured out! Not sure if they refill the coolant with one of those nice pumps, but if you have any overheating issues still, remember you can always bleed the air with one of those kits.
