    The transformation has begun

Tim is on the fenders, but still waiting for the lift kit. It had to be ordered from the USA. The trim makes a huge difference although it doesn't show it in this pic

    Arthur the brave

A quick update on Arthur for those who are interested. He is coming along nicely, although a bit of infection was discovered in the wound on his front foot. He is being well looked after with regular dressing changes and is still on a course of antibiotics. We are happy that he now has the...

    The transformation has begun

So, I have bought my new wheels and tires for my 2011 JKR which will be fitted as soon as they arrive and the lift kit is waiting to be installed. In preparation I got stuck in yesterday and trimmed my fenders, trimmed the pinch seem on the front of the rear wheel wells and shortened the rock...

    Arthur the brave

Good on your sister mate, please give her our thanks for the work she is doing. Rowdy looks to be a big and strong individual. Are there any other white rhino at that sanctuary? By the way, a bit of trivial information for you all. Although we call the two species of rhino white and black...

    Arthur the brave

In my "wave" thread, I mentioned that I was a trustee at a rhino orphanage where we save baby rhino when their mothers have been poached. Here is a story about Arthur, one of the latest additions to the family. I thought it might be of interest to some of you. ARTHUR, THE BRAVE THE STORY OF...

An old disused mining wagon trail in South Africa by Jeep JKR

A few weeks ago a group of friends and I decided to explore the mountain region of Mpumalanga in South Africa. The terrain is a mixture of steep slopes, dry rivers and streams, loose rocks, washouts, slippery clay, mud, jungle and high mountain meadows. I hope you enjoy.

2011 JK Rubi build in South Africa

The time has come to get started on changing my stock 2 door Rubicon into a beast. Here are my plans, please comment to make sure I'm on the right track. Unfortunately we are a little limited as to choice of parts etc here in South Africa, so much research has to go into everything to try and...

    Mopar 2" lift

Apparently it will end up as a 2 1/2 " lift instead of 2". No big deal in my book. A assume the ride will be a bit harder, although the suspension has done 30,000 miles on the JKU. Here is a pic of the kit,

    Mopar 2" lift

Hi guys, I need some help to make a decision. A friend of mine is installing a higher lift on his 2012 JKU rubicon and has asked me if I want his 2" Mopar kit that he is removing to install in my 2011 JK Rubicon. I have asked the guys on Morris 4x4 if it would work, but they say a 2012 model is...

Hi, from a very distant South Africa.

This youngster is one of my favorites at the sanctuary. His mother was poached for her bones which are sold in the far east and two of his siblings were killed by hyena before we could rescue them. We've had him for about 4 years.

Here are a couple of pics of my offshore boat and a half decent mackerel. My favorite grounds are off Mozambique, where these were taken a few years ago.

Hi, from a very distant South Africa.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Yup, my job is a great one as I'm able to spend my days outdoors. It is very rewarding but can also be heart breaking on the odd occasion. Nice pics of your wife's visit to SA Mike, you'll have to join her next time. Here are 2 pics of my Defender TD5 taken in...

Hi, from a very distant South Africa.

Good day to all the avid Jeep drivers on this forum. I drive a 2011 JK Rubicon, this is my first Jeep and I'm really enjoying it. My previous 4x4 vehicles were 4 or 5 Land Rover Defender 110's and a gas guzzling Nissan Patrol. As mentioned in the thread title, I hail from South Africa where I...
