Looking at this picture, do the tan paint dots on the cams have a meaning? To me, it looks like the dot on one cam is aligned with another dot on the reluctor, but on the other cam they are not aligned. Could this mean a slipped reluctor?

Well, we pulled the valve covers, which took some work, but we found metal powder on the reluctors that we think is coming from a bad rocker. We'll replace all the rockers tomorrow and put everything back together. Might take two more days. I'll let you know. Apparently, these rockers can go bad...

I ended up "borrowing" my son's ABS Wheel Speed Sensor off his JT Sport. When the new part arrives, I'll put it in his Jeep. The swap over worked fine, cleared all codes and I had an epic Memorial Day Weekend with friends.

FAD is Front Axle Disconnet

Apparently, it is the FAD that prevents use of 4wd when the Front Speed sensor codes are thrown. I'm not sure I like the idea of computer codes being able to keep me from getting into 4wd. Does this go into the Plus column for FAD Delete? Without the FAD it seems there is nothing the computer...

For those who want to know, Front wheel speed sensor is Mopar 68394210AF FUN FACT: if your speed sensor goes bad, I found this hack which claims to get you into 4wd which might be needed to get off the trail. I will try this and let you know.

Looking at ABS C0031-1D it looks like it's unhappy with the speed sensor that was on the Driver Left where my ujoint exploded. Perhaps it was damagaged. I have the Tazer, but as far as I've found out so far, Tazer won't let me read or clear DTC codes so I'm looking for a way to do that.

I did have to unplug the speed sensor to change the Knuckles of course but it didnt seem damaged so I just reused it.
