End of Summer (Not really, its TX!) Colorado vacation

We didnt do any camping, but we spent the last week in Colorado - stayed at the Angler Inn in Placerville, about 15 miles from Telluride. We spent a bit over 16 hours driving up, and we brought our dog Charlie with us for the trip. My wifes mother and step father were staying in Silverton, so...

    Cordless Impact Gun?

Actually, the M18 2763 is rated up to 700 tightening, 1100 break away. The Ingersol 20v is its best competitor, and a few tool review sites have done comparisons - both tighten to about the same level, both can remove bolts the other one tightened...

2012 JK, SuperChips FlashCal, cannot get TPMS to work

As the title states, I cannot get the TPMS turned off for the jeep. I have done some searching here, and have done the "back and forth" to the Jeep and computer, I have contacted Superchips, who gave me instructions to download the update through Windows Update and turning off all security...

    Additional step for LOD sliders

Have had the sliders on for a few weeks, and the wife is not really finding the step height to be of great use. In contemplating a way to help her further, I was wondering if anyone had built, or considered, some sort of additional step to be used around town, but that can be easily removed...

    Picked up a project

Found this little guy at an airport a couple months ago when my dad and I went to pick up a 2 post lift. This belonged to one of the owners there, who had got the little 4cyl engine running, and then let it sit. After a little bit of talk about cars and projects, he offered this up at a price...

Lod slider install - what are these for?

Going over the project-jk instructions there is no mention of these 2 bolts/nuts/washers that came in the hardware pack. What are they for?

    Show your Wrist Watch

Daily wear is a Tissot T-Touch titanium, but instead of the titanium bracelet I have it on a basic nylon strap. Stupid lightweight, and while the nylon is getting a little beat, still "nice enough" to wear and not stick out amongst co-workers, has analog time with digital display with date or...

I guess its time to document the build. I didnt do much of that with an old XJ, and now I dont have any pictures or information written down. The start: And feeling flexy: The plan I had: Lifty lift big tires moar awesome ??? Profit! The new plan "Stage 1": Offroad and Trip worthy...

    Power Plant install, help needed

So its been a pretty good weekend, on Friday I went to my dads shop and used the lift to install the Rancho 2" sport lift, along with the Evo Protek skid plate system. Nice to be inside and have the whole thing in the air, though we still resorted to jack stands and a jack a few times... No...

Planning a vacation to Arizona and Southern Utah. Suggestions needed

The wife and I are planning on taking a vacation out west. While we have done a bit of traveling, neither of us have visited much of the Southwest, so we wanted to do that late this spring. At this time we are planning on about 2 weeks, starting from the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Right now the...

    winch line abrasion guard questions

Got the winch. Got a Spydura winch line to go on it. Looks like it has a heat guard built into the first few feet that go on the drum, and in the box was about 3ft of what appears to be a basic nylon webbing sleeve for an abrasion guard. Do I need to worry about this being enough? I have...

Getting the jeep set up for some recovery, and using some gift cards and promotions available to me. I want to throw out what I have ordered, and get suggestions on anything else I may need. I used the info posted here to help me with the purchases so far (Thanks Eddie!)...

WIN a Set of NEW Rancho RS5000X Shocks + BONUS!!

2012, stock Rubicon suspension right now. First forray back to Jeep since I got out of college, when I had a pair of XJ's. Wanting to do a small boost on it to fit 35s for a little more clearance. Have the tires in the garage, along with an Evo Protek skid setup, and a winch. "mod list" Trek...

    Bumpers...

I got a Power Plant, and I need a place to keep it. I figured the front of the jeep made the most sense, so here we are. A couple things I want: Sunk/lowered winch mounting. I dont want the winch covering the grill. Width - I like stubbys, but I like the bumper to be the width of the grill...

What was updated with Warn PowerPlant changes a couple years ago?

Got home with this: So I get to Houston and the seller uses the air compressor to remove the wheel from the truck, then disconnects that, and run the winch in and out to make sure it is working. Disconnect/remove everything, load it into the back of my car, and I drive back home...

    Any Mountain Bikers?

Some great rides in here! I have slowed down a lot over the past year and a half, as my riding partners have dwindled some. changes in work schedule and some medical issues with the wife that have moved to some less strenuous time together are taking over, but need to get back on the trail...

What was updated with Warn PowerPlant changes a couple years ago?

Thanks for the info! In case anyone else is looking, I was able to use the Wayback machine to get the old Warn site to pull up some details. So it is giving up some line speed, but the rest of the specs look pretty similar
