Steering issue after Clayton Lift

Hello. I need some help. I did the Clayton 2.5 let ft with all 8 arms and both track bars. I am getting a flighty feeling at highway speeds and also it feels like when I hit a bump the jeep wants to do the death wobble but the stabilizer is preventing or covering it.

Here’s what I done.

Dry steering test and nothing was moving and I upgraded the trackbar bolts to the bigger ones.

Tires have been rotated and balanced

Checked all of the bolts are torqued correctly

Had it aligned at 2 different shops. I attached the latest alignment.

Can anyone think of anything I’m missing?4209330662479127110.jpeg

Are you still running the factory steering stabilizer or did you install something else. +5.2° of caster should be plenty to keep things at bay.

I upgraded to the fox one
Reinstall your factory one and I bet the problem goes away.

And yes, I know it shouldn't make a difference if you have everything else dialed in but for some reason, the electric steering pump likes to do funny things and so far, the only stabilizers I have found to help are OE and Rancho.

Ok but when I had the stock one on I got really bad steering shimmy to almost a death wobble
Steering shimmy as in it was speed related and always there or only after hitting a bump in the road? You need to provide a bit more info for us to be of any real help.

A flighty feel at highway speeds is typically caused by a lack of caster. You do show that you have +5.2° and while that should be plenty, going up a degree might help as mentioned.

The bigger bolts won't make a difference. Making sure that your front track bar bolts are tightened to 125 ft lbs of torque is the only thing that will. You say that you have them on so that should be all you need.

It's not uncommon to require multiple balancing especially with big off road tires. If you're running something like Patagonias, they suck big time and you may never be able to get them right. That said, the most they will do is instigate DW, not be the actual cause of it.

Using the factory FSM, right? Not some internet expert nonsense from the internet, right?

The numbers look good or at least, at a glance.

How many miles are on your Jeep? If everything else checks out for sure, I would give your ball joints a look as they could be worn out. Aside from track bar issues like a loose bolt or worn out bushing, bad ball joints are the number one cause of DW. If you have a 2018 JL, it could be your steering box as well as they were made with aluminum and definitely had these issues to the point where Jeep issued an TSB for them.

I have the Clayton lift on my JKU, flightly loose feeling in the steering was a few things for me, also sounds like you're getting bump steer

What size tires?

1. do the drag link and trackbar look parallel to each other?

2. adjusted my caster closer to 6*

3. dropped tire pressure to 30 from 36, I had 37" BFG tires on beadlocks - too much air will make it feel flighty

4. reset my toe in to 1/8" from 1/16"
