Random (non-Jeep) Shit You’re Working On....

My wife is doing a Polar Express day tomorrow with her 1st graders. So last night I was cutting train cutouts out of 1" Styrofoam insulation board. I was too cheap to buy a hot knife so a pair of vice grips holding a razor blade did the trick. The depth and thin blade worked better that my utility knife. The tip of my finger is still numb from starting out holding the blade with my hand...haha.

Christmas gifts ...

Some of these are done. But some are not.

The shithead used a ton of construction adhesive to glue down the tack strip 🤬 using a hammer and pry bar against the steal is deafening. View attachment 435752
What kind of flooring is going back in?

If carpet just leave it

Construction adhesive is no joke, I don’t know if it will be any better than a hammer and chisel but they make scraper blades that fit a sawzall. That’s what I used to get all of the thinset hardy backer off my floor when I removed the tile.

We ended up going with LVP. I was going to post this in another thread but forgot. That’s the new flooring under Harrison’s new birthday present from my mother in law. IMG_1072.jpeg

Looks great!

Another thing that may help chip up the tack strip would be a long handles scraper. A little speed and weight sliding into the edge of the strip might make light work of it.
