Portable power stations

So we are starting to look into getting into camping more. I've been looking at portable power stations that can be charged by solar. Ideally to run a small heater on cold nights and charge accessories. We have a Dyson hesting/cooling deal that would be great in a tent. There's so many options out there. What is everyone using? Not looking to spend 10k on a set up but I know decent ones aren't cheap. Right now, not running a fridge or anything but that could be later.

Looked at this because it looks like it would even run my fridge in the house if the power went out

The ecoflow delta 2 is a great system. We add it to vans we build for customers to power the fan, ac unit, and other accessories they add.
 
I’ve been using Bluetti, they have tested me well so far, I have the AC180, and it handles everything I use it for, along with their car charger 1 for when needed. My set up runs a diesel heater all night and has plenty of power for changing and other things.
 
Ecoflow are good. I have a jackery which is decent. Works well for my needs but if you can put it somewhere where noise isn’t an issue, I would get a gas powered one. I would bet your heater would run through a solar generator. What’s the wattage usage of it?

From the research I can find I'm seeing between 1500 and 2000w at max.
 
Good to know. This is all new territory for me so I appreciate all the feedback. Does a diesel heater generate carbon monoxide?
 
Diesel heater goes outside your tent/vehicle and ducts in. It’s very simple, small amount of power to get it going then it’s a pretty Low draw to keep it running, it has an exhaust with everything remaining outside your tent, but i do keep a thermometer/gas sensor in my tent jic but it’s never budged.
 
On the subject of the one I linked, would that reliably run something like my house fridge if we were to lose power?
 
You can do it, just depends for how long based on your battery size, most mid size to big ones have enough amps to run it, small ones might not.

Yeah no problem. Your house fridge and freezer don’t use hardly anything once they are at temperature. I can run four stand up freezers for days on end with my jackery and not lose all the juice.

That's awesome to hear. We have our main fridge, a deep freeze and a garage fridge. The one in the garage usually just holds the beverages so it's not a huge concern, though cold beverages are a good thing. The main and the deep freeze would be my big concerns for a long outage. That set up is a lot at one time but seems like a buy once cry once situation

Anything that works with/off of electrical resistance really drains the juice

Good chart but keep in mind for the refer and the freezer that’s really only when the compressor kicks on. Otherwise it’s super low. I think my four are less than 1 watt without the compressors on.

I also use the Bluetti and it has never failed me. Lots of info and video on these. I can use it to power a fridge and charge other batteries I use while out for a long weekend. Also charges while I'm out on the trails or driving between locations.
