So... this turned into quite the project. The Badlands winch comes with a rather large and bulky control box mounted on top of it. Since air flow through the grill was the whole reason to for the bumper and winch change relocation was key. Ended up buying a control box off Amazon but finding a suitable home for it was not easy, after all the engine bay is pretty full. Fourtanatly the Motech conversion came with a new battery tray. So we ended up mounting the box to the bottom of it. Temps are well within acceptable parameters and you can barely see the control box.

@Chuck84 Could you show how you mounted the remote relay box for the winch ? I'm running the same winch and would like to relocate the relays.

This is the only picture I have on hand with the box installed. I can take more if you are looking for a particular view, however DON'T ask for internal pictures...lol While I did modify the relay box so I can pull the lid off while mounted, it's not something that is quick to accomplish.

Ok just to be sure i have my bearing straight , is that mounted on the passenger side under the battery box ?

Yes, it is mounted to the bottom of the batttery box. Passenger side...the Motech battery box has a nice flat bottom that worked out perfectly.

Finally found the time to sneak in our first trail run! Sorry, no action shots of her. Our follow rig had his hands full.

We did Telegraph Line Tr. between Bartlett and Horseshoe lakes. The trail has a 5 rating but after all the rain we had here in Arizona I'd say it is closer to a 6.
Everything went really well! I could still use a little work on my throttle finesse, all that new power made for a lot more tire spin. Fortunately I avoided digging in.
Very pleased with how she performed!!!
