Dana 60 SMF Upgrade worth it?

I can't decide if I should just bite the bullet and get the semi float D60 from Fusion with the electric locker for my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon. I broke the ring gear in my rear axle 5.13 gears, and now I don't know if I should trust it. I'm Running 37x13.50/17 cooper tires. I'm sure I broke it snow wheeling.

I don't want to buy new wheels, I have a set of trail gear beadlocks I am going to install on it someday when the cooper tires wear out.

I do not plan on doing anything else to the front axle except a truss and CV axles. Its held up fine for 100K miles.

I use the truck in Moab and for a lot of just exploring the back country. The load in the back can be heavy with my extra battery, refridgerator, bed slide, fridge slide and all the gear.

I have the parts to rebuild my rear axle, but just don't know if I want to spend $7k on a D60.

Definitely not worth it. Not to me anyway especially if you're just running 37's. Semi-float 60 is a big waste of money all in itself and all that you mentioned you would need to buy to make it work, really isn't something I would do.

As you've noted, you've made what you have now work for 100k miles and admit you probably broke your re-end snow wheeling. Just fix it and go easier on the skinny pedal next time.

I wouldn’t do semi float in anything other than a 44. Complete waste of money in bigger axles.

All the above - I bit into a sell job on this setup about 9 years ago. BIGGEST waste of money ever. I still bent flanges.

Fix it and keep on going. Save for real 60 axle and replace when the time comes. You might get another 100k miles on it or just get another jeep by then.
