It’s not easy.. or cheap. I’m regretting not spending more and getting the main gears NOS, but I’m already into it well over 2kLove that you’re still able to source NOS parts. All wrapped and gooped with cosmoline too. So cool

Haha, that’s awesome!I’m not sure the MPG on this old Jeep, but I’ve filled it up 4 times driving around already.
I didn’t think anything would beat the FC on my favorite Jeep to drive.

Cool that you got a new Jenner but why couldn't they just add a shim to take up the play? After the back and forth of NOS parts, reproduction parts I just got the T84 back from Tehachapi Transmission. I had them rebuild it after discovering some machining issues that I didn’t feel comfortable dealing with. The guy has previously rebuilt my 57 Wagon and CJ2A project transmissions. I do believe it’s been restored back to better than factory specs.
The case itself had tolerance issues at the main shaft at the case, causing the main gear to have up and down play and back and forth. It’s now a complete transmission for the first time coming off a production line in 1941
I’m not sure when it’ll go into the Jeep, maybe when I get my new shop done in Nevada.![]()

The shaft the main gear is on, those holes on the case were machined too big. So the gear itself floated up and down. There is shims for front to back play. That’s the easy fix.Cool that you got a new Jenner but why couldn't they just add a shim to take up the play?
It’s tiny for sure. Pictures make it look bigger
you’ll be waiting a long time.I’m not sure when it’ll go into the Jeep, maybe when I get my new shop done in Nevada.![]()
