Drive your Jeep the way it is and have fun. Save money for 60s and 40s. By the time you've saved up half or so, you'll probably have sold the Jeep anyways or realized you really don't want to spend it on 60s and 40s.I think the question I should have asked is what would people recommend for people who want to go to 37-38 inch tires reliably (and one day would like to do the whole 40s thing).
Beef up and regear the stock axles? Upgrade to a PR44 upfront? Just run these rubicon axles with 37s until we can afford 60/60s? These are all the options going through my head and want to know from people who know way more then me what is actually a good option for our situation.
or you get guys on 35's & 37's that are having a blast on 90% of trails... while the guys on 40's and 1 tons have to hit the Harder trails to reach the same excitement level... but when they break shit, it costs waaaay more to fix. Not saying it's not cool, and we all want the 40's... just have to be realistic and know your wallet can keep up.It's a funny thing to look back and remember how excited I was to get my very first set of 31" tires, how enormous 33s used to be and how I didn't get my very first set of 35s until I was in my 30s. It really is any wonder how any of us ever wheeled any trails back then.
And to that point, I laugh my ass off every time I see a super built up rig running 40s or bigger and struggling on shit that a stock rig with a seasoned driver behind the wheel can just crush.
don't drive like the "media whores" trying to get views, pick good lines and you'll be surprised how long the Rubicon axles will last with 37's.I really appreciate everyone’s insight. I don’t think I said I need 40s, but if I did I apologize haha. I would like 40s.
I think everyone has a good idea that we’re just younger people trying to wheel the piss out of our jeep and want it to be reliable. I think the question I should have asked is what would people recommend for people who want to go to 37-38 inch tires reliably (and one day would like to do the whole 40s thing).

Again thank you everyone joining the group has been the best decision I’ve made in my Jeeping journey!
Did someone say no 4:1 transfer case and no lockers???I might add, not only did us old farts wheel with tiny tires, most of us did it with a manual transmission, no 4:1 transfer case and no lockers.
I'd be more impressed if you were driving a stickDid someone say no 4:1 transfer case and no lockers???![]()
LOL - or, he can do what Adam suggested - take out a loan and do it all at once. Go into big debt. It’s worth itPoor Guy came here wanting 40's... and we shattered his dreams.![]()
At least he got honest info. Buy once, cry once.Poor Guy came here wanting 40's... and we shattered his dreams.![]()
That is what I came here looking for. It’s easy to get carried away watching social media people act like you need 40s to do anything. I need people to kinda catch me and put me in place. Just this past weekend I did everything in my rig with 35s and short arms as a guy with 42s with a long arms and coil overs. I’m leaving here with lots of honest feedback and the confidence that I don’t need to rush into 40s. I am hell bent on going up to 37s though. So I do need to figure out if i should beef these axles up or what.Poor Guy came here wanting 40's... and we shattered his dreams.![]()
