Pet Peeves - What Pisses You Off?

Sorry, I did not know. I have never turned right on red without stopping before.

Texas used to be that you had to stop at the light until it turned green, and then they changed it so you should come to a complete stop, and turn if there is no oncoming traffic and it is safe. It is natural to assume that Utah introduced a new rule which allows an immediate turn if the driver assumes that an impact is not very likely.

Diarrhea of the mouth seems to be the issue

OMG!

FLEAS! Worse, lodging establishments that allow pets but do nothing to control the tiny biting shits!!

So, for some reason, we don't have fleas in Northern Nevada and believe me, I love it. That said and over the past week, Ripley had developed an itch and to the point where it's gotten bad. Needless to say, I started checking her ears to see if maybe she had an infection and as I was doing that, I noticed on the blaze of her head, tiny little black things crawling around. Yep, you guessed it, she has fleas!! And, the only place I can think of that she got them from was the pet friendly cabin that we stayed at in Shaver Lake last weekend

That blows. Is she on a flea and tick medicine?

We have been using simparica trio for years and its been good for Rylee. Although, not sure if we ever were in a hotel with fleas. But she hasn't had any tick issues and we have a lot of those.
Friends of mine use that as well, luckily our dogs have been clean of those bastards for years .

We’ve used this for a few years now because we get a shitload of ticks. Dogs have been clean since using this

Might want to check out Cistus aka rock rose. I know it works on ticks and skeeters. Also helps with Lymes. I’ve been giving it to Arya for a couple years. No ticks or fleas but yeah also no hotels. Our back field is a tick haven and she stays tick free.

While not as bad as the coffee shop horrors above, this is pissing me off.

As has been said, my Mom passed. Had the Estate Sale last weekend, none of the furniture moved. Plenty of interest, no counter offers, feel that we had it priced fairly just to move it.

So now to the pissing me off part. Trying to donate this stuff AND have the receiving charity come pick it up. They want the furniture that will generate them a few thousand dollars, but they want ME to pay them to come pick up the donation. Don't fucking think so Clarence.

But I did find ONE charity that will pick up everything at no cost to me. They reserve the right to refuse anything and I feel they will refuse one bedroom set as it is old and worn.

So, if you find yourself in this situation and you have them in your area, Habitat for Humanity has ReStore's where they sell donated household items to pay for their work on building homes.

Went through this when my parents passed. Going through their stuff is so bittersweet and then having to get rid of it all really sucks. My brother and I went through everything, then offered to other everything to other family members. Finally had to chuck stuff in a dumpster even though it felt like betraying them somehow, but what the hell do you do with all of this stuff?
Was a wakeup call for me though - I quite hoarding stupid shit and got rid of a dumpster full of junk I didn't need even though I'm sure my kids will be thinking WTF did he keep all this shit for someday........

Estate sales really suck, and especially if the place needs to be cleared soon. We went through this a bit over a year ago. In our case the deal was that the estate sale business would haul away whatever did not sell. It is good that the stuff was gone, but I don't think that the deal made them sufficiently motivated to sell given that they would come out winners either way. There are reasons they don't want the homeowner anywhere around, and one reason is that they would be very distressed by what goes on.

I'm lucky to have a charity near me that will pick up, sent them a bunch of items as I was clearing the house out to move and my daughter didn't want it.

As I was talking to the guys that did the pickup, I found out the administrator has been a childhood friend with the owner of a local scrap yard, they'll also pick up scrap metal (they get more than what the public gets per pound) so they took the furniture items, returned and took a bunch of metal parts that I haven't been able to sell.

I've been doing this to avoid having my daughter deal with it, clearing out everything I've been saving that I haven't used in years.

At this age, I'm pretty much prepping for death so my daughter doesn't have to deal with any guilty feelings of cleaning out stuff that meant something to me but has no meaning to her and carry no value.
