This might be the largest wolly buggar I’ve ever tied in 1/0…
The last of the pike flies…pike bunnies. Heading to northern BC for pike, bull trout & lake trout…
Northern BC near the Yukon border…grayling, lake trout & bull trout. There were moose, caribou, black bear, stone sheep and mountain goats everywhere we flew
Trout day…fishing Rainbow River. All of the trout were big…put 20 into the net, smallest at 18”, several in the 22”-24” range…and a couple bull trout as well. My partner brought his euro rig and cleaned up on tank whitefish
Decided to take an easy day…no fly outs. Wild cranberries were everywhere…tart, but delicious. Fished the falls on Smith River for small grayling on the 4wt…and a couple small bull trout
Drove to the Liard River for some more grayling action…the fish here were a bit bigger. Felt good to soak in the hot springs before going back to the cabin
Saved the best for the last day…Triangle lake, which straddles the BC-Yukon border. In fact, I hooked a fish in the Yukon Territory, but landed him in British Columbia…
The pike here are huge…the smallest at 36”, the largest at 44”. There are monsters here over 50” & 40 lbs…I put 17 into the net, my partner 13…and lost countless others
that's a big pike, looks like great fishing.
The photo of the berries, looked like something in the bushes was looking back at you but maybe just a yellowish berry
