Of course. I have tires on my vehicles way older than that. Check for age cracks or obvious signs, but when they are installed ask them to give them a once over.

They’ll be fine especially if stored inside. The biggest problem with older tires is UV degradation.

The rule of thumb seems to be 5 years after the build date. But of course it depends on environmental factors, and how they have been used.
I see that Google AI says 6-10 years.

Not a stupid question at all. Tires do dry rot. If they are outside in the sun and weather and not driven even occasionally they can bulge and become dangerous.

I should have added an emoji to my original post. Sometimes sarcasm is not self-evident.
When i worked at Pep Boys, they would not install tires older than 5 years regardless of tire condition. The Firestone shop across the street had the same policy. Likely most chain shops gave the same policy. Independent installers may install based on tire condition.
I did have 10 year old General Grabbers on the Xterra in great shape. But it was garage kept, and a rubber conditioner was applied liberally each winter when it wasn't driven.
