Is Nevada the new Cali? SB80

Unfortunately with the large influx a people from Cali. It seems some of them brought their policies as well.

How do you all feel about SB80? Which makes things like car exhaust modifications or tampering with emissions systems not only carry a hefty 1000 dollar fine but a misdemeanor citation as well.

As Sharkey pointed out, Southern Nevada or more specifically, Vegas/Clark County, has been East Cali for a long time now. Reno/Washoe County is getting there as well and that does suck. Unfortunately, their stupid BS does affect the rest of the state but even in California, there are still counties, few as they may be, that do not have emission/smog checks. Likewise, Vegas/Clark County and Reno/Washoe County are only the 2 counties in Nevada where you do have to get smog checks, just like you do in most of California. And, while SB80 is a state bill, it was designed to help "improve air quality and discourage street racing" in Vegas/Clark County. Also, from what I understand, where they get you is when you go to get your smog check. Of course, this is NOT something that is done anywhere else in the state.

Yes and no they are currently training police departments on how to enforce the law. Most notably by sound (loud or aggressive), smell, and smoke (for you deleted diesel folks).

They want people to notify them if they suspect someone is not compliant using those same indicators. So if you have a local Karen good luck.

Yup, I agree with the technically of the bill but there are a lot of things on any vehicle already, especially on a modded Jeep that was illegal before the bill. Things like beadlock wheels or the lack of a front license plate (if it came with a means to mount one from the factory) are technically against the law but that doesn't mean you're going to get instantly pulled over and written up for it. Where all this will be an issue will be in places like Vegas or anywhere there are Karens for sure, just like it was with the whole mask BS.
