Aux Battery Not Ready

Dang y'all are harsh.

Pardon me for being brand new to the site and not seeing the previous commentary on this situation.

I've been working on vehicles since the 70s, did a good bit of research (much more than 1 video btw) and am very happy with the real world results.

I'd appreciate it if you'd take a moment to educate me on what I missed - rather than simply calling me a tool - or at least make an intelligent noninsulting relevant comment.
Why don't you research it here and find out why we say what we say? You are good at researching afterall.

Rather than watch videos and read nonsense on the internet or make assumptions based on your baseless opinion, maybe you should try asking Jeep directly as to why the auxiliary battery exists. If you did like I had (and I spoke with a senior level Jeep engineer who's primary focus is on the power plant of their vehicles), you'd learn that it exists to help protect your Jeep's computer from the shock of engine start up. No, the computer won't automatically blow up without it but over time, the shock can and will damage it. Of course, thanks to all these new Jeeps coming with auto start stop, the amount of times your engine has to start and therefore shock your computer is that much greater. Even if you disable auto start stop, your computer will still get shocked every time you start your engine IF you don't have an auxiliary battery installed.

But hey, you don't need to take my word for it.

That's what I was trying to say with my chicken picture.

Thanks much for taking the time to share that; it's the first time I have been exposed to that information about the aux battery.

I guess I'll need to read a bit more on here before commenting again. You don't know what you don't know.

It's getting harder and harder to sort thru the BS because so many "influencers?" and others jump on the bandwagon so quickly.

When the JL came out, youtube was instantly flooded with "5 things", "10 things", removing the aux battery and so many ways on how to bypass it, as the race was on to be first to get a JL and fuck up your Jeep and from people who had never owned Jeeps but jumped on the potential to make a buck by basically destroying it.

What i think is worse, not a word from Jeep brand on why these things shouldn't be done because why stand in the way of the dealership service making a buck (y)

Well said and holy hell, the amount of REALLY BAD "information" that's been posted out there and as if it were the absolute truth is frightening.

So many people feel the need to be heard and instead of just shutting up about things they know nothing about, have to comment on EVERYTHING regardless of knowledge.

 I know a guy
LOL I might BE that guy...

Apologies for appearing to be some influencer promoting myself!

This is why I joined, to get good info rather than the drivel found everywhere there's an idiot with a phone, looking for clicks.

Wayoflife: Agree that Jeep really should be more transparent about how things actually work. Insert discussion about corporate prioprietary info, but still.

It's a leadership thing and the current one sucks. I'm lucky enough to still have a few friends (who haven't retired yet) who are senior level engineers at Jeep and I get to learn a lot from them. I can also tell you that the reason why so many have retired is because of the leadership there.
