It happens to me all the time and I assume it happens to you as well. You read something on the internet and learn something you never knew before and are amazed by it. Needless to say, I thought it would be fun to share some of these new found things that you've learned.

To start, I just learned that the founder of UPS, Jim Casey, was from Pickhandle Gulch, Nevada. Known today as the ghost town of Candelaria.

Here's a shot of what it looked like back in the 1880s

And, here's what it looks like today. Actually, we took these pics about 10 years ago. Shitheads have since trashed the place and thought these would be better to show.

Very cool, didn't know UPS was that old.

Worked for them a few Christmas seasons; loaded trucks or as I like to call it, 1st person live tetris (y)

Thats awesome! I don't know if it's the angle of the first picture or what but it's amazing how much the land around the town has changed.

In part, it's the angle of the pic I took but without question, the other is how much they've changed the landscape out there due to mining. What was once all hard rock mining turned to open pit in more recent years and everything transformed.
