Is This the NEW JEEP TREND?

So recently, I had a conversation with some industry friends and in it, we got talking about Jeeps, the trends that have come and gone and where things are today.

Of course originally, very first Jeep was made for military use.

And, when it ultimately became available for civilians, it was mostly used as a utility vehicle for use on things like a farm or other work applications.

Eventually, enough modifications and improvements were made that it became known as a fun convertible, one with 4WD and something that people could appreciate for off road recreation use.

Once coils were adopted, things really started to change and now it became something that could be modified, flexed out and rock crawled.

And, when they became available in 4-doors, they became a family SUV that could also be highly modified with coilovers and made to play on really big rocks and or bomb across the desert.

More recently, people shifted away from big suspension builds and started to put a priority on parts that would make their Jeeps, glorified campers or what many called, "overlanding".

And, while overlanding is still a thing, we all have noticed that it's finally been on the decline or at least, in terms of Jeep trends and the question was asked, what is or what will be the new trend?

Now, for Cindy and I, the answer is something we've been seeing coming for a while now. In our opinion, the new Jeep trend doesn't even have anything to do with off-roading but rather, it's all about "LOOK AT ME - LOOK AT ME!" Certainly, social media is a major driving force for all the narcissism and with everyone and their mother wanting to be an internet star. Of course, the whole "duck" thing has only fueled this ego driven madness with people lining their dashes with rubber trophies and to the point where you can barely see through the windshield. But, one of the things we've really seen change, it's in the amount of people who are interested in and or attend major off roading events. Sure, there's still things like EJS, Jeepers Jamboree and Trail Hero and lots of people still attend them but you're kidding yourself if you really think they can hold a candle to car show events like Jeep Beach or really, the grand daddy of them all - Jeep Invasion! This is where HUGE numbers of enthusiastic Jeep owners can be found and all eager to show off their built up, shiny show rigs and of course, with the name of it plastered across the hood and or body. In our opinion, THIS is the new Jeep trend and it's one we only see getting bigger and bigger.

Obviously, this is just our opinion and based on what we've seeing but I'd love to hear from you and get your take on things. What do you think is or will be the new Jeep trend? Inquiring minds want to know 😁

That's what I see. Everyone doing whatever possible just to plaster pictures on social media . And they all are so similar. It's like they orgasm'd a quatratec catalog on their jeep. I miss the old days of something unique and different. Seems like social media has really messed it up.

That pic of Moby is insane!

I have my opinions on what others do to their Jeeps, but it really doesn’t matter and I mostly keep it to myself since it’s theirs and they can do what they want. I don’t care for the ducks and toss them in the backseat LOL

That being said, I prefer seeing Jeeps off pavement and being enjoyed by the owner. People need to try getting rid of Facebook, instagram, or whatever the new fad is and go enjoy life.

In a way, what made Jeeps so unique and different back in the day is that most of us were just trying to make do with what we had or could get our hands on. But yeah, pretty much everything is the same china crap on everything these days.
The new fad is how much stupid shit can I bolt on. The contest should be how many ducks can they shove up there ass because they are GAY .
:ROFLMAO:
Jeeps are gay. Always have been, that whole wave thing. They just finally took over for the Subaru.
LOL - tell us how you really feel 🤪

Insane because of the rocks he's on or because he doesn't have any aftermarket skid plates? :ROFLMAO:

And, I'm with you. People should be able to do whatever they want with their Jeeps and I honestly don't care. I just made this post because of who I work with and current trends concern them.

Maybe aftermarket skid plates are the new trend 😂😂 I won’t be buying any

There's the dumbass duck crowd and the rest. At least the overlanding crowd engages 4WD occasionally. Seems like Jeep shows have overtaken actually going offroad. The Bantam Jeep Festival over here in Butler is just like the rest of these "Invasion" events. I quit going because its obnoxiously crowded and full of gay Jeeps. The events are overly coordinated and unbelievably lame. And of course there's the obligatory mud pit thats impossible to make it thru but hundreds of retards try anyway. I make it a point to drive up into the mountains that weekend & avoid the people.

Jeep has overly pandered to the soccer-mom/influencer/fashionable crowd. Look at Land Rover. Seems like they reached for that crowd. A '25 Grand Wagoneer Obsidian package is $112k. The halo vehicle sets the expectations for the rest of the line - I wonder how neutered the next gen Wrangler will be.

Haha- i seen someone ducking a jeep today at Home Depot and felt like i was missing out since I’ve been driving jeeps for 4 years and have never been “ducked”. I’m thinking these people with 20 ducks lined up across their dash must be ducking themselves lol

Well I guess I won’t ask you if you want to meet up at the Bantam fest.

I think (hope) they've learned there are not enough soccer moms spending $112K for a Jeep to support neutering their bread-and-butter Jeeps especially at the stupid prices they are asking.
