Shock Length.

I recently installed the Evo 2.5 enforcer lift on my 2021 Mojave gladiator. I believe the lift raised the vehicle more than 2 1/2 inches. As of now, I retained my factory fox shocks with the use of shock extensions. I want to install the falcon 3.3 piggyback shocks, however, I’m not sure what length of shock to buy. How do I measure for this? As I said, the lift I installed is 2 1/2 inches, but I believe it raised the vehicle more than 2 1/2 inches. Falcon 3.3 shocks have a set for a 2 to 3 inch lift and then the next step up would be a 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inch lift. Any guidance and help would be appreciated thanks.

You will want the 2-3" shocks. the 3.5-4.4 will be too long and your coils will fall out of the perches at full down travel. Of course measuring full travel for actual needed length is ideal but that would include ordering custom shocks OR you buy the shocks the lift kit company, like EVO, provides with their lift kits.

I would also caution the Falcon shocks as we have seen them leak, they have a short 1 year warranty AND they require you to mail them in for service/warranty. Just a heads up.

I have the falcon shocks, they are "rebuildable" but only if you send them in at your expense.

TF customer support is shit; they were supposedly going to create a service manual for the shocks but the excuse I got was the guy in charge doesn't want to do it in case the customer does something wrong they won't warranty them... guess what? they won't warranty it even if it's a part designed for you to install, you did it wrong and that's why it failed.

Yep, I've had some interaction with them, good marketing hype, shitty products and support.

Thanks. That definitely makes sense in regards the shocks falling out. About the falcon, thanks for the heads up. I hadn’t heard that.

As mentioned, the longer shocks will allow for your springs to fall out at a full flex AND they will most likely bottom out before your axle bumps out at a full compression. I should also note that the factory Fox shocks that come on the Mojave ride way smoother than the Falcons.

Ok thanks. Sounds like I need to run the fox shocks and save up for some adjustable king remote resi shocks. The Terraflex shock extensions I’m using For my shocks really don’t fit the front properly. I obviously had to drill out the holes because of the shock bolt being larger, but when I mounted them, they don’t seem to sit all the way down to the bottom of the shock mount. I’m assuming that’s because the Mojave front lower shock mount is a little bigger or beefier I believe. That said, the small positioning screw that attaches to the extension through a hole on the bottom of the shock mount isn’t long enough. They have come loose.

Any recommendations of different shock extensions that would work better with the Mojave????

I performed a garage alignment after i installed the lift, then took it to the alignment shop.. found out after i left the shop, the alignment tech never adjusted my rear trackbar. I went back to question him about it, his response was that it was almost spot on.. what do you think???

also, im about to install the geo brackets, im thinking i wont need to have it realigned... any thoughts on that???? the reason i want to install them is to eliminate some of the bumpsteer... my understanding if i dont adjust the control arms, it will push my front axle forward a little, thus, yeilding a little more caster.. i think. any advise???

i also am noticing how the rear of the gladiator feels loose or sways if i jerk the wheel. kind of an unsettling feeling.. im assuming i need to put a hellwig sway bar on??

again thanks.

I apologize for missing this but here's a link to shock extensions that I think work well.

Honestly, your axle will ALWAYS be a bit off one side or the other depending how much weight you or don't have in your Jeep. It's the nature of the beast when it comes to track bars and really, I wouldn't give it much thought, especially in the rear and if you're not having any rubbing issues.

Technically speaking, you never really need to pay someone to do an alignment and more times than not, they just take your money to make a print out of what you already have set being that UNLESS you have adjustable components, there isn't a whole lot they can do.

That said, If you're still running factory arms, no, you will not need an alignment. IF you are running adjustable control arms AND have adjusted them out, YES, you "may" need to make a correction for that.

Last but not least, the bump steer you're feeling will NOT be caused by your control arms. If anything, what you are feeling is a symptom of your track bar and drag link sitting at a steeper angle. A relocation bracket and drag link flip will help flatten them out and improve steering feel.

The factory rear sway bar is on the lighter side but I kind of feel like it gets the job done or well enough. I kind of think that what you're feeling in the rear is just your shocks being on the soft side, which is typically the case with stock shocks and even higher performance ones.

Man you’re awesome for taking the time to send all that. Much appreciated it!!! I have the front and rear relocation brackets for the track bars. I did not install them when I did the lift. The lift I put on is 2 1/2 inches.m, although, I believe it yielded much more than that. I guess the big reason I didn’t put the front relocation bracket on was due to not having the flip kit for the dragL. I definitely do not like the bump steer I’m feeling so I’m probably going try to flatten out both the drag Linc and track bar.

As far as the geometry brackets for the control arms. I guess I was a little confused on what drivability issues they correct. I think putting them on will help with brake dive. My lift is the Evo stage three so it came with lower front and upper rear control arms. I will probably just put them on and not adjust anything. I’m assuming I will get a little more castor out of it anyway.

I guess I didn’t think about the shocks being a factor of what I’m feeling in the rear. The Mojave is more of a plush ride if you’re running the stock shocks and coils. That said, I’m assuming when I upgrade the shocks, it will fix some of what I’m feeling in the rear.

Thanks again for all the help!!
