Grew up in Northern Virginia, 20 minutes outside DC. Always been fond of the outdoors. After I graduated from X-ray community college, I wrecked my motorcycle (Kawasaki Ninja 600) and blew my collar bone up (literally, orthopedic surgeon laughed at the X-ray and said he had nothing to attach hardware to). Decided I needed something with a cage. Enter my Jeep.

First new vehicle I bought. 00’ TJ with a 5-speed. Loved that thing. Had met my (now ex) wife, had a 3” body lift put on (yeah I know, very bad decision. I blame myself for not researching enough and only talking to one shop with “oh yeah! Body lift is ALL you need” … older and wiser now). (Ex) wife had champagne taste and we had a beer income, even though we had a minivan, my Jeep wasn’t “family friendly” and had to get rid of it. One of the long list of reasons she’s now my ex.

Now, several years later, I had to rent a car for work (company car vs. deer, and I had to drive from NC to the middle of PA). In the parking lot was a white 4 door JL. Hadn’t thought about my TJ until then. Hey, if work’s paying for it, why not. Right?

Yeah, I got the bug again. Bless my (current) wife for putting up with me and my obsession with Jeep. She’s looking forward to it too, but just wants to race through the mud and get dirty. My tech/electronics/radio/geek side wants to get into the middle of nowhere in the woods and see how far I can get on comms.
