I've done it both ways. So long as you're just doing black powder coat, you can touch it up with touch up paint and it'll still look...

Completely forgot about that. They came pre powder coated black from kmc. Looks like scuffing and paint is the only way to go.

Powder coat is a pain to remove if you want to change colors. It basically needs to be sand blasted. Paint comes off easy. Paint is the way.

Paint or powder will get messed up on the rocks regardless, I’d paint yourself to save a good chunk of money and just touch up as needed.
